Pikes Peak

Mountain Climbing

The last several months have felt as though I was in the middle of a tornado.  Seriously.  We have traveled the universe in a very short time.  Let’s begin on June 19 and give you a very fast forward of all that my family did.  It will be very, very fast and not boring (unlike those genealogies in the Bible).  Just kidding.  I’ll give approximate dates and places.

June 19 – Took a deep breath and LEFT BETHLEHEM, WEST BANK, PALESTINE and drove to AMMAN, JORDAN passing by the LOWEST point on Earth – THE DEAD SEA.

June 20 – Arrived in Detroit, Michigan and spent a few days in the area.

June 24 – Drove to Grand Rapids, Michigan (other side of the state) and hung out for about a week.

July 3 – Drove to Mackinaw City and boated to Mackinac Island for a few days to celebrate being back in the United States with family.

Later in July – Spent a day in Traverse City

July 28 – Drove to Canada (north of International Falls, MN) to spend time at my husband’s family cabin for a week.

August 12 – Loaded up everything we own onto a moving van.

August 13 – Drove out to Denver, Colorado.

August 14 – Got the keys to our new home and went to Ikea to buy bunk beds for the kids.

August 26 – Husband began schooling.

August 27 – I began my new job.

September 1 – Drove to the top of Pikes Peak, Colorado (one of the HIGHEST points in the United States).

September 19 – Started breathing again.

Living overseas was tough.  Our move home has felt a bit like climbing a mountain.  It has been a little harder to breathe, taken some altitude adjustment (mentally and spiritually), but we (the family) are all hopeful and looking forward to our mountaintop experience!
